Tempeh The Indonesian Traditional Food - Tempeh or Tempe is a traditional soy product originally from Indonesia. Made from natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form, similar to a very firm vegetarian burger patty. It has a unique taste and is mildly flavorful on it's own, unlike tofu. If you aren't fond of tofu, tempeh is also very high in protein and calcium, as well as beneficial isoflavones, but tastes nothing like tofu. Tempeh has a textured and nutty flavor.

Tempeh is very popular in Indonesia especially in Java Island. Tempeh is a Javanese Traditional Food. Tempeh's fermentation process and its retention of the whole bean give it a higher content of protein, dietary fiber, and vitamins. If you come to Jave, please try Tempeh. I'm very sure that you'll like it.

Tempeh can be eaten with rice, and many food like a sambal lalapan with fried chicken. the taste is very good. You must try it if you come to Java.
